Vision Li-ion Battery

Vision Li-ion Battery

Vision REVO 2.5 TP Series Lithium-ion Battery Systems

Available in six cabinet power sizes (25.6, 28.2, 30.7, 51.2, 56.3 and 61.4 kWh) the Vision REVO TP Series of battery systems offers a flexible lithium-ion alternative to traditional lead-acid VRLA batteries. The latest REVO 2.5 series also features numerous significant enhancements.

Established in 1994 as Shenzhen Center Power Tech. Co. Ltd, Vision Technology is one of the leading companies producing lithium-ion batteries today. Its facilities achieved ISO9001 status in 2002 and it was the first to pass ISO14001 environmental certification in China. The company now operates with a variety of additional certifications from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), German VdS, American UL and European Union RoHS.

The Vision REVO TP Series is specifically approved for use with KOHLER Uninterruptible Power’s KOHLER PW 6000 (60-120 and 400-500kVA), KOHLER PW 9250DPA, 9500DPA and MF series UPS systems

More Information

Parallelable to 32 battery modules, each REVO 2.5 TP cabinet comprises 10, 11 or 12 LiFePO4 battery modules of 50Ah or 100Ah each. This provides a range of energies per cabinet of 25.6, 28.2, 30.7, 51.2, 56.3 and 61.4 kWh or 10 minutes autonomy at powers of 114, 125, 137, 228, 251 and 274 kW respectively.

Each cabinet has its own Battery Management System (CBMS) with moulded circuit breaker and LED status indicators plus an optional LCD display screen. The System BMS provides central control and real-time reporting of cabinet status to external systems via RS 485 outputs and dry contacts.

New in the REVO 2.5 series, for enhanced confidence, each module has its own fire protection system as standard – the perfluorohexanone fire extinguishing agent is activated within 10 seconds of fire starting. Systems can also be fitted with an optional second-generation cabinet level fire extinguisher.

REVO VERSION 2.5 SYSTEM ENHANCED FEATURES:

  • Enhanced performance eg +2X higher discharge rate
  • Laser welded (vs manually crimped) cell connections improve reliability and reduce resistance
  • Module level fire protection as standard – perfluorohexanone fire extinguishing agent activated within 10 seconds of fire starting, plus optional second-generation cabinet level fire extinguisher
  • Battery module structure includes improved insulation and corrosion resistant polycarbonate material tray
  • Module level fuse protection – can be activated by the battery management system, protecting against serious faults such as short circuit or insulation failures / damage
  • Improved, better protected and more robust routing of fan and sampling cables
  • Integrated bus-bar for simpler, more reliable screw and cable-free cell connections
  • Improved user interface

Why Lithium-Ion batteries?

Valve-regulated lead acid (VRLA) batteries – sometimes known as sealed lead–acid batteries – have many advantages and have traditionally been the battery of choice for backup power in UPS systems. However, battery technology has progressed rapidly in recent years. Today, lithium-ion battery technology is an attractive option – especially where high energy density and low weight and greater operating temperature ranges are important. Advantages such as longer lifespan, smaller size and weight, shorter recharging times and falling prices only add to the appeal of lithium-ion battery solutions.

Key Benefits

  • Outstanding performance
  • High reliability
  • Fast charge and discharge rate
  • Higher power efficiency
  • Increasingly competitive cost of ownership
  • Lightweight
  • Longer battery life

What is a battery?

A battery is a device that uses chemical means to store electrical energy and can be found in any number of shapes, sizes, voltages and capacities.

When two materials (usually dissimilar metals) are immersed in a solution (electrolyte) they conduct electricity between the ‘plates’ which gives rise to an electrical potential. The value of the potential (or voltage) depends on the plate materials and the electrolyte used. Examples of different battery composition include lead-acid, nickel cadmium (Ni-Cad), and lithium-ion.
