Revolutioning Data Centre Resilience in East London
Strategically nestled in East London, Green Mountain’s LON-East facility boasts a secured 30MW power capacity on a stunning site, which broke ground in 2024. Designed for scalability and high-performance workloads like Cloud, AI and HPC, the cutting-edge data centre sets a new benchmark for modern data centres with advanced air and liquid cooling systems and tailored build-to-suit options.
MF Series: The Perfect Backup Power Solution
To meet the facility’s rigorous power protection needs, Kohler Uninterruptible Power collaborated with main contractor TClarke to deliver a robust backup power system. After careful cost analysis, the MF Series emerged as the optimal choice, delivering financial, environmental and operational support benefits. The 97.4% efficiency of the MF Series saves Green Mountain over £230k annually, equating to £1.2 million over five years and £2.3 million over ten years. Moreover, the system reduces CO2 emissions by 3.5 tonnes over a decade – aligning seamlessly with Green Mountain’s sustainability goals.
Efficient, Scalable and Environmentally Conscious
The first phase of the project required 7MW IT UPS to support a max load of 2,400kW per power stream. KUP delivered eight 1500kVA MF Series units to meet these demands. Specifically engineered for data centres, the MF Series offers unmatched scalability, resilience, and efficiency. Its innovative design minimises environmental impact while optimising power usage effectiveness (PUE). With modular capacities ranging from 250kW to 1,500kW in a single frame and the ability to scale up to 6MW, the MF Series also reduces footprint by up to 45%, all without sacrificing accessibility for installation or maintenance.
Collaborative Excellence
KUP’s dedicated Projects team worked closely with TClarke to ensure seamless on-site implementation, with phase two beginning shortly. This next phase will replicate the initial setup, installing another 7MW IT UPS (8 x 1500kVA MF Series) to support the same load requirements.
